Shopping for a Birthday Party
Tomorrow is a very special day. It is my sister Emily’s tenth birthday. My mother and I are at the shopping mall right now because we need to buy many things for her birthday party. The party will be at our house tomorrow afternoon, and ten of Emily’s friends are coming. First, we go to a big supermarket inside the mall. We need to buy ingredients for the food. Next, we buy some snacks like potato chips, cookies, and popcorn. We also get some bottles of orange juice and soda. After the supermarket, we visit a party supply store. This store is very colorful. We buy twenty balloons—ten pink balloons and ten white balloons. We also buy paper plates, plastic cups, and colorful napkins with birthday designs. Finally, we go to a toy store to buy a birthday present for Emily. Emily loves drawing, so I choose a big art set with many colored pencils, markers, and sketchbooks. My mother buys her a beautiful pink dress for the party. We pay for everything and carry the heavy bags to our car. We are tired but very excited about the party tomorrow.
