A Day at the City Zoo

Today is Saturday and the weather is beautiful. It is sunny and warm. My name is David, and today I am visiting the city zoo with my parents and my little brother, Leo. The zoo is very big and there are many different animals from all over the world. We buy our tickets at the entrance and walk inside. First, we visit the monkeys. They are very funny. They jump from tree to tree and eat yellow bananas. Leo laughs a lot when he watches them. Next, we see the lions. They are big and strong. One lion is sleeping under a large tree, and another lion is walking around. They have long hair and big teeth. After the lions, we go to see the elephants. Elephants are my favorite animals. They are gray and very big. They use their long trunks to drink water from a small pool. Leo likes the giraffes because they have very long necks. They eat green leaves from the tops of tall trees. At one o’clock, we feel hungry. We sit at an outdoor restaurant inside the zoo. We eat burgers and drink cold lemonade. After lunch, we visit the birds. There are parrots with beautiful red, green, and blue feathers. They can make funny sounds. Finally, we visit the souvenir shop. My parents buy a toy lion for Leo and a book about animals for me. We leave the zoo at four o’clock.
